World-class hunting exists in the Beulah area!

Outdoor recreation in Beulah often centers around Lake Sakakawea, fishing and time spent on the waters.

World-class hunting opportunities exist just outside the Beulah city limits!

Beulah is on the Central Flyway, which provides excellent waterfowl hunting amidst the area’s various waterways. An abundance of public access and wide open fields and prairie make Beulah a premium destination for geese, ducks, pheasants, grouse, and partridge. Hunting trips and guides exist that are much more affordable than surrounding states.

As summer ends and fall begins, deer hunting moves to the forefront of hunters’ minds. Archery season starts in early September, while firearm season typically occurs for two weeks each November, with a special muzzleloader season beginning around Thanksgiving and extending into December. The area also offers great furbearer hunting and trapping opportunities. Plenty of public land is available for hunting in the Beulah area as Wildlife Management Areas and State Trust Lands, all viewable from the North Dakota Game & Fish Hunting Atlas.

Maintaining excellent marksmanship is crucial to having a successful hunting trip and a membership at the Zap Sportsman Club is essential to keeping the skills sharp. Visitors and new members are welcome to utilize the club’s pistol range and rifle ranges at 100- to 300-yards with staged shooting benches.
