Beulah city council approved City Water/Wastewater Superintendent Gary Bovkoon’s request to upgrade the city’s water salesman software during a regular council meeting at City Hall Monday, Nov. 4.
Bovkoon explained the software system for the water-purchasing facility, located on the east side of ND Highway 49, south of the railroad tracks, has been working on a desktop version, which annual fees total $1,500. He requested – and was granted – to be allowed to purchase a cloud-base version of the software instead, which is a total of $2,800 a year.
“We’ve had a lot of issues with (the desktop version),” Bovkoon said. “Moving it to a cloud-base version, computer-wise, if we had any issues, it won’t all just be lost. It also makes it easier for users, who can go in and check their accounts.”
