Hazen, Beulah to face off in 47th Coal Bowl

News
When the Beulah Miners and Hazen Bison square off on the football field for the 47th edition of the Coal Bowl Friday night, more than bragging rights are at stake.
The two rivals come into the game deadlocked at 23 wins apiece since the two schools began playing for the Coal Bowl Trophy in 1980, meaning Friday night’s winner will take a one-game lead in the series. The Miners have won four of the past five matchups and are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings, including a 46-8 rout over the then-winless Bison in 2025. Hazen last took home the trophy in 2024.
But in this rivalry, you can throw records out the window.
