Cory Hepola is coming to Beulah! Our city is delighted to announce that My Town is bringing its production crew, cameras, and charming host to this corner of North Dakota to film an episode for season three. Beulah will be a featured community with its own dedicated episode showcasing why it’s a wonderful place to visit and live.

My Town is a nationally recognized YouTube documentary series that profiles towns across America. It explores different industries, community groups, and rural cultures that comprise our country. When Hepola visits Beulah, he gets to see why we’re so passionate about it.

"Being selected for the My Town series provides a tremendous opportunity to tell Beulah's story on a much larger stage," says Beaver Brinkman, City of Beulah Economic Development Director, in a press release. “We want viewers to see the people, businesses, and organizations that make Beulah a great place to live, work, raise a family, and build a future.”

Hepola and his team will film in Beulah through 2026, and the episode will premiere in early 2027. Follow the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) for additional updates and alerts when the season airs.

My Town Puts Beulah on the National Stage

The My Town YouTube channel continues to grow with each episode as more people tune in to Cory’s travels and insights into rural communities. As of July 2026, My Town has more than 16,000 subscribers, and its videos have 1.7 million views. This is a tremendous opportunity for Beulah to reach new audiences and attract people to the community.

Not only will Beulah benefit from the immediate release of the episode, but filing also comes with marketing and promotional opportunities throughout 2027. Interest in Beulah could continue for months, even years, after the episode airs, as more people discover My Town and watch through its catalog.

Hepola Believes Every Town Has a Story

Cory Hepola grew up in a small town and eventually moved into a major metropolitan area. He had a vibrant media career and enjoyed the amenities big cities offer. However, after a while, he started to ask, “What would happen if I moved back?” This led him to develop the My Town series to learn why people choose to move to – or stay – in rural areas.

Since launching My Town, Hepola has been to nine different states and profiled more than 21 communities. His work has been nominated for four Emmys, including Outstanding Lifestyle Series. He believes every town has a story and wants to meet with communities across the United States to hear them.

Content from My Town has been distributed on PBS, CBS, FOX, and cable outlets, expanding its reach beyond YouTube.

Beulah is Excited to Tell Its Story

The City and CVB are working with residents and businesses to share different aspects of Beulah’s story. It is creating a plan with the production team and is excited to showcase everything the community has to offer. This is a big deal for Beulah and could benefit people from all walks of life who call this area home.

"Beulah's story is one of innovation, resilience, opportunity, and community," Brinkman said. “We are excited to share that story with audiences across the country and showcase the opportunities that exist for current and future generations.”
