Water board approves further drone flights

With some helpful data already in hand from recent drone flights, the Mercer County Water Resource Board is looking to conduct further drone surveys, primarily of key places along the Knife River channel, to help identify where flood and erosion control are necessary.
During the major melting (and minimal flooding) that occurred in the county when warm temperatures in mid-April took out the vast majority of accumulated snow in a matter of days, Apex Engineering, the engineering firm working with the county water board, conducted drone flights and took video of flood spots near Hazen, Beulah and Zap.
